Sunday 26/11/06 away against Portishead Saints.

A lovely sunny morning but a slow heavy pitch at Portishead, was the setting for Fry Club B Girls away game against Portishead Saints, the later currently holding second place in the league.

The game got off to a poor start for the Fry Club girls as they went 1-0 behind within the first five minutes and just never seemed to get going. Portishead scored another 2 goals in the first half to bring the score to 3-0 at the half time break.

The second half saw a bit more movement from the Fry's Girls and a little more self belief, possibly due to the introduction of Steph at right back late in the first half, which seemed to shore up the defence and with her long balls push the Fry Girls out of their own half.

Portishead scored again bringing the score to 4-0 in their favour after approx five minutes from the restart. Even though the damage was done and the Fry Club Girls had little chance of coming back they then had the better of the play for the last fifteen minutes, and but for some great saves from the Portishead goal keeper might have scored a couple for themselves. So the final score was 4-0 to Portishead Saints.

Player of the match for this game was Steph who was called upon to play at right back, not her normal or favourite position. However her performance was truly outstanding! She won virtually every tackle she went in for and produced some fantastic long ball passes, and goal kicks. Well done Steph!
